According to figures from the Humane Society of the US, 6-8 million cats and dogs enter animal shelters in this country yearly. And of that 6-8 million, about half are euthanized due to lack of available homes. That is 3-4 million dogs & cats killed needlessly every year. Don't contribute to this staggering death toll.

The 13th annual Spay Day USA was held on February 27th, 2007! The Humane Society of the US helped people with unneutered/unspayed pets that needed help with the cost of spaying or neutering. Click here to read more about it.
The United States Postal Service issued PaLC's proposed Spay/Neuter Your Pet Stamp as part of its U.S. Stamp Program for 2002... not as one stamp but as TWO! The Neuter Your Pet Stamp depicted a dog while the Spay Your Pet Stamp depicted a cat.
The puppy, Kirby, and kitten, Samantha, were adopted from animal shelters and, according to the shelters' policies, were respectively neutered and spayed. Both animals are enjoying life in Connecticut with their adopting families.
