For animal lovers who live in Virginia, there is a new way for you to help homeless animals in your community. Our friends at Prevent a Litter Coalition (PaLC), in cooperation with the Dept. of Motor Vehicles, have initiated "Animal Friendly License Plates". The 4-color plate features a dog and a cat and the saying "I'm animal friendly". The license plates are now in production and can be ordered at the DMV. $15.00 from each tag goes toward spaying and neutering in the local community. In the first year they raised $9000, the second year $52,000.This will have a direct, long-lasting affect on the pet overpopulation in Virginia and decrease the number of young, healthy animals who are put to sleep each year for lack of good homes.
