To celebrate our merger with Spay, Inc, we are offering FREE spay/neuter of SPCA NOVA-adopted kittens at SPCA NOVA-approved vets.

Here are the details:

• Virginia law requires all adoptions from shelters and rescue organizations to ensure pets are spayed/neutered.
• All SPCA NOVA cats are spayed/neutered prior to adoption, unless they are kittens under 4 months of age.
• For kittens adopted before they are 4 months of age, the adopter signs an adoption contract agreeing, among other things, to spay/neuter the kitten at 5 months of age
• The adopter receives a FREE spay/neuter certificate at the time of adoption for use ONLY at SPCA-approved vets. The certificate covers the surgery, post-operation pain medication, and post-operation boarding for females. The certificate does not cover pre-operation blood work or exams or vaccinations (that may be due).
• The spay/neuter appointment will be set up jointly by the SPCA NOVA Spay/Neuter Coordinator and the adopter.
