| Annabel | |||||||||||||
In a kingdom by the sea, That a maiden there lived whom you may know by the name of Annabel Lee, And this maiden she lived with no other thought Than to love and be loved by me. - Edgar Allen Poe, Annabel Lee Like her namesake, ANNABEL is a lovely little lady who only wants to love and be loved. She takes naps with her foster mom, as well as sleeps in her bed at night, along with her foster mom’s other kitties. Annabel has integrated herself into her foster home with 3 existing cats with little drama, attesting to her sweet demeanor. She is a little chatty - mixing meows with chirps and cute little noises - which is rather endearing. She is also quite playful batting her toy mice around! You'd never know by her activity level that Annabel is in early stages of kidney disease. She is on prescription food to keep her healthy. Our vet thinks she has many wonderful years ahead of her. Annabel was a stray kitty found outside of an apartment complex. She literally ran out of nowhere and announced herself to a kind woman who was outside walking her dog. We don't know if she was lost or abandoned. At the time she was emaciated although we don't think she had been outside very long. Annabel is a sweet, kind soul who deserves the very best home and a lifetime of love. She will give love back in spades!

| Avalanche, Blizzard, Flake, Flame & Flurry | |||||||||||||
These kittens are extremely friendly and playful with very active purr machines. They play hard until they tucker themselves out, ending up in a large sleepy kitten pile. They can be adopted in pairs or into homes with another kitten or young cat to bond with. AVALANCHE (male) is all white with blue eyes. He is the ONLY kitten in this litter who is DEAF – a genetic defect that can happen with all white cats. BUT, this doesn’t slow him down one bit! Avalanche is fearless and always the first one to pounce on a new toy or explore something new. He loves being cuddled and feeling the vibrations of your voice and responds with his big purr. He also likes to 'taste' things by licking them, which can be very ticklish if it is your ear or toe. Avalanche lets you know if he wants your attention with his little mew. BLIZZARD (male) is all white with green eyes. He is the most timid of the group. He will let his siblings dive into something first while he decides if it is safe. He is also a cuddler and likes to be close to his foster parents. His favorite place to play is inside the ankles of his foster mom's pant legs. He burrows inside and then attacks his siblings from inside. He needs to be adopted with one of his siblings into a home that is relatively quiet so he’ll grow out of his shyness. FLAKE (female) is all white with blue eyes. She gets her name from her playful antics. She often ends up on her head or upside down while playing. She enjoys tummy rubs, but often can't decide if she prefers to let the hand rub her tummy, or if she would rather attack it. Flake may be the smallest of the bunch, but she is right in the middle of everything with her bigger siblings. FLAME (male) is a classic orange tabby. He loves the feather and streamers on a stick toy, often tramping on his siblings to pounce on it. He, along with his brother Avalanche, are the two big boys of this group, but he is very good with his smaller siblings too. Once Flame tires out after playing, he claims the prime spot in his foster mom's lap or the crook of his foster dad's arm to start a sleepy kitten pile. FLURRY (female) is white with green eyes and a small brown smudge on her head. She is often content to watch her siblings play with the feather toy from the sidelines. Once the feather toy is put away though, she pounces on her siblings from behind her foster mom's legs. Flurry is often the first one at the door to greet her foster mom and likes to 'help' her to clean the litter box.

| Baby (aka C.B.) | |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| Babykins | |||||||||||||
Baby came into our care after being left behind when her caretaker moved and left her behind with a friend. Baby was not happy with the other cat in the household and as the dynamics began to escalate, her new family knew she would be happier as an only cat. Baby has proved this to be true - she has settled in nicely with her foster family where she is the only pet in the household.
| |||||||||||||
| Beauty | |||||||||||||
Beauty enjoys looking out the window watching the world go by and giving you "kitty kisses" by playfully grabbing your hand then licking it. Beauty loves swiping then meowing at her favorite toy -- a mouse that chirps back at her! And she goes playfully insane when you bring out her other favorite toy - the laser! If her favorite toys are nowhere to be found, Beauty wastes no time finding other "treasures" to play with -- little bottles of lotion, spoons, bottle caps or tweezers -- anything she can swat at or carry around in her mouth. The world is one big playground for this energetic kitty! Beauty was evacuated along with her newborn kittens (all adopted) by a kind woman who scooped her off the streets as she headed to Northern Virginia, along with her two dogs, ahead of Hurricane Gustav. You can read more about Beauty's ordeal in our newsletter by clicking here and reading "Silent Stories: Hurricanes, Pets and Unsung Heroes."
| |||||||||||||
| Biscuit | |||||||||||||
Biscuit came into our care along with his siblings from a subsequent litter - Cinnamon, Mini and Tom - after a kind woman called for our help. Her brother had passed away leaving her to care for his cats -- all five of them, including a pregnant momma cat we named Rose. She soon had nine unexpected kitties on her hands, so we agreed to take them all into our care. Biscuit and Tom are currently in different foster homes, but they would probably make a great pair!
| |||||||||||||
| Bonzai & Buster | |||||||||||||
BONZAI was the first to walk, run and play along with Buster. He is even more snuggly than Buster, and that’s saying A LOT because Buster is a cuddler. Whenever his foster mom comes home from work, Bonzai is waiting, and when she enters the room, she hears him purring a mile away! Bonzai gets very excited, jumping up on her legs and feet, begging to be picked up and snuggled. His favorite thing is being held and he loves to nuzzle his little head against your neck. He has a little crick in his tail which he's probably had since birth. This gives Bonzai an extra dose of character! BUSTER has always been the leader among his siblings as well as the biggest one. He treated the other smaller siblings like his own. He was the first to start grooming and actually groomed the little ones before they knew how; he’s truly a loving cat. With Bonzai at his side, Buster is a curious little adventurer. He loves to explore and play, but his favorite thing to do is snuggle with his foster mom. Whenever she lays on the couch he jumps on top of her and rubs against her face and give little "kitty kisses" as if he's grooming her and taking care of her! He’s truly a loving kitten, and always wants show his affection.
| |||||||||||||
| Caesar &Sheba | |||||||||||||
CAESAR (male) is jet black from head to toe and so handsome. He is very socialized with his three siblings, including Sheba, and with the foster parents and their three adult cats. He has no fear, investigates everywhere and plays with anything. Caesar likes to closely supervise the scooping of their litter boxes and to "help" whenever he can. SHEBA (female) is "sugar and spice." She is sweet and cuddly sometimes, and a scrappy little wrestler other times. She is fostered with her three brothers and is just as likely to initiate a wrestling match as any of them. Sheba is also a little smartie who goes straight to the source of the movement of a battery-operated toy in the foster parents’ home which has an arm mechanism swinging a fluffy ball in a circle for the kittens to chase – she goes for the base of the moving arm mechanism to get hold of the toy as often as she chases the ball.
| |||||||||||||
| Cali & Izzy | |||||||||||||
These sisters are fast friends. One moment they are “viciously” attacking the other, and in the next they are lovingly grooming each other. They are very bonded and need to be adopted as a pair. CALI is a beautiful short-haired calico with inquisitive eyes, big white paws, and a cute pink nose. Her body is muscular and solid. Cali has a silly way of meowing -- her face scrunches up when she meows. When she is tired, Cali likes to cuddle up in the chair next to her foster mom and let sleep overtake her. IZZY is a gorgeous tortoiseshell with longer hair. The black marks on her face hide her eyes. Izzy is more slender than her sister. After tiring herself out, Izzy plops down like a wet rag in her foster mom’s lap and quickly falsl fast asleep leaving her with the feeling they are pinned down. Izzy is a talker especially in the morning when she sees her foster mom and dad! Like kittens everywhere, they are very energetic and sound like tiny galloping horses running up and down the hallway. Both love people and want to be where their foster parents are whether they are washing dishes or reading a book. One day when two six year old girls who love to play with kitties visited, they were very happy to have their “excess” attention. It’s very simple to turn on their purr motors. One or two strokes and their motors are humming away. These are two beautiful and loving kittens who will brighten up your day!
| |||||||||||||
| Candy | |||||||||||||
Candy came from a loving home but was displaced when her caretaker died. She came into our care with her mom, Rose, and her brother, Biscuit, and delivered kittens a few days later. Her adorable kittens are all ready for adoption as well - Dusty, Bright Eyes, Sqeeker, Frito and Dimple. We would also like to find a new foster home for Candy now that her kittens are bigger. She needs more space to roam around and venture out on her own!
| |||||||||||||
| Carmen | |||||||||||||
Carmen was sadly found living outside after giving birth to her kittens under someone's porch. One night just before a thunderstorm someone called asking for SPCA’s help saving this little family.
| |||||||||||||
| Carrie, Samantha, & Charlotte | |||||||||||||
CARRIE is a little talker. She loves to tell you everything that is going on. She likes to get popsicle sticks and carry them around in her mouth...and then fight off her sisters to keep control of it! When Carrie is tired, she loves to curl up right next to you...and she lets you know when the cuddle angle is just right! SAMANTHA is the smallest of her sisters. She loves to lay on the back on the couch or sit in the window to watch the world go by. She is also a master fly catcher...if she sees one, watch out! She's on the hunt for it. Samantha has a quiet little meow that is barely audible unless you are looking right at her. CHARLOTTE is the lover in the group. She rubs up against you purring the whole time. She tries to position your hand just right to get the perfect angle to be petted. Charlotte is truly a lap cat! No matter what else is going on, Charlotte always has time for a quick cuddle.
| |||||||||||||
| Cinnamon - Adoption Pending! | |||||||||||||
Cinnamon is a mystery to us and the person who found her at his doorstep in the midst of our February blizzards - alone and hungry. She is a little timid and needs a quiet home with a patient caretaker who will give her a little time settle in. If she doesn't get adopted first, we would like to move her to a new foster home with a more compatible playmate. Now that her buddy, Tabasco, is much bigger than she is he has gotten a bit too rough when playing with her. Cinnamon needs a smaller and/or less active kitty to buddy-up with.
| |||||||||||||
| Cleo | |||||||||||||
Cleo was a stray kitty found outdoors with a litter of newborn kittens. A kind woman brought this little family inside for safe-keeping until SPCA was able to bring them into our care. Her six kittens are growing up fast and need homes as well - Daisy, Flower (adopted), Mickey, Minnie (adopted), Mouse and Tigger (adopted).
| |||||||||||||
| Cleo, Cheri, Charlotte, Jennie & Jesse | |||||||||||||
CLEO was fearless from the start! She was named for her Egyptian style eye liner. She is a track star who likes a lot of running and tumbling during play and doesn't seem to care if she is chasing or being chased. Cleo is quick to call out for attention and always likes to sleep with one of her siblings. She likes to curl up under the warmth of a desk lamp when her foster mom is on the computer. Cleo is perfect little tiger who likes love and attention. CHERI is a brave, outgoing kitten who likes to be in the middle of things - like helping with the laundry and reading the newspaper! She is also very sweet and likes to be where her foster family is hanging out whether its sitting in your lap or laying on her sister, Jennie, or sitting with her foster family's big Labrador, Charlie. Cheri is very playful and lots of fun to have around! She is in a foster home with her sister, Jennie, and we are hoping they will be adopted as a pair. CHARLOTTE is a true Southern Belle. She is the first to be in your lap with lots of purring and biscuit kneading. She has a special grace to her little pitty-pat walk that suggests a future queen. However, don't mistake her for a push-over! Charlotte hangs back as others jump in, but once she's confident she'll be in the middle of the action. Charlotte is also quick to chirp at her siblings when they are too rough, and growls when they forget their manners with her toy. All is forgiven when play is over, and Charlotte curls up with her siblings. It's all part of her "Steel Magnolia" charm which makes her a perfect little princess for your castle. JENNIE is a little baby. She loves to be cuddled and is always looking for someone to pet her, especially on her tummy! She’s your own little welcoming committee when you walk into the room, she’ll run right up to you “meowing” to be picked-up. Jennie is also playful and loves to get in your face for a little kiss. She loves playing with her sister, Cheri. Jennie and Cheri are in the same foster home and we would prefer they be adopted as a pair. JESSE is the Big Boy of the group! He loves to follow you around and has a charming thump-thump gait when he chases after you. Jesse is adventurous and has fun with everyone at playtime but sometimes forgets he's much bigger than his siblings. Although he may curl up for long naps alone, he wants to know you care and is quick to greet you requesting lap time for rubbing and purring.(ADOPTED!) These kittens were rescued from outdoors when they were tiny babies by a kind woman who bottle fed and nurtured them. They are sweet, happy, healthy kitties who are now looking for homes of their own!
| |||||||||||||
| Daisy & Yuna | |||||||||||||
DAISY, aka Her Highness, has decided that she descends from a long line of royal kittens. Shy in her younger days, Queen Daisy has acquired a new confidence since the discovery of her sleek beauty and royal bloodline. She can be quite vocal when it comes time for her daily massage, and she has perfected the royal pose: lolling about, outstretched on whatever surface happens to be handy, preferably a soft one. All kidding aside, Daisy is an absolutely gorgeous kitten who is equally beautiful on the inside. She is very affectionate, playful, and loves human touch more than anything else. Once she got use Yuna, after her siblings were adopted, Daisy decided that Yuna could stick around and actually is a good buddy! YUNA, Daisy’s stepsister, is a bit younger and smaller than her companion, but she keeps up just fine, thank you very much! Nothing ruffles this laid-back kitten; all she wants is good company (human or feline) and room to run and jump. Whether it’s playing, wrestling, or naptime on her foster mom’s lap, Yuna goes with the flow. She is one of the sweetest-tempered kittens you will ever meet! We united Yuna and Daisy in one foster home after Daisy's siblings were adopted. Yuna is Kale and Rhu's sister. At first Daisy wasn't quite sure about this new feline, but Yuna kept insisting that they become buddies and her strategy has worked. These girls are now a pair and need to be adopted together.
| |||||||||||||
| Dimple, Squeeker & Frito | |||||||||||||
These adorable girls are Candy's daughters. They need to be adopted with a sister, another compatible SPCA female kitten, or into a home with another young, compatible cat to bond with. DIMPLE is a sweet little girl with a “dimple” mark on her cheek. While she loves to play hard, Dimple is also the most cuddly of all her siblings. When she's in a cuddly mood, or tired, she loves to rest in your lap and falls asleep.(STILL AVAILABLE!) SQUEEKER is a lovely little girl cat who was very vocal when she was tiny. That's how she got her name. She doesn’t squeak much anymore, but does have things to say every now and then. She is friendly and playful, and has lovely marbled tabby markings. (ADOPTED!) FRITO is another girl cat with marbled tabby markings like her sister, Squeeker. She also has a little “Frito Bandito” mustache that was more pronounced when she was tiny. Maybe she should be called Frita now since we know she is a girl. Frito is very friendly, but a little more reserved than most of her siblings.(ADOPTED!)
| |||||||||||||
| Dusty | |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| Dusty & Bright Eyes | |||||||||||||
DUSTY is a precious little boy cat with a very serious face. He loves to wrestle with his brother and runs like crazy after feathers on a stick. Dusty played a little rough when he was in the same foster home as his sisters. He's been moved to a new foster home with his brother, Bright Eyes. They are a great match and need to be adopted as a pair. BRIGHT EYES is playful and sweet with a wide eyed expression. He's very playful with toys and loves to wrestle with his brother, Dusty. He seems to have an endless amount of energy. And, this sweet boy is also a cuddler!
| |||||||||||||
| Edward & Loreal | |||||||||||||
EDWARD is a very sweet boy. He's a tad bit shy, but once he warms up to you he is just a big baby! He loves running after and catching toy mice. Once he's done playing, he loves to sit in your lap to be petted...purring up a storm! Edward is doing great with his new buddy, Loreal, who is teaching him to be more confident and outgoing. Edward was found outside living under someone’s deck along with his mom, Sharona. He's a lucky boy that they stumbled upon the home of a long-time SPCA volunteer to ask for food and a temporary refuge. LOREAL is a friendly, feisty kitten. Two words describe this confident girl: playful and playful! She chases her toy mouse until she is panting, and then chases it some more! When Loreal takes a break from playing, she loves to be petted and curls up next to you. She also enjoys playing with her new friend, Edward. And, she is a great influence on him. Edward is not as confident as Loreal – especially around new people. So, she is showing him that there is nothing to fear. Loreal was rescued outdoors along with her two siblings - Spider and Sable - who will be ready for adoption soon.

| |||||||||||||
| Gwen | |||||||||||||
We think Gwen is making up for lost time -- she finally gets to be a kitten! She was a stray kitty who has apparently had 3 litters of kittens outside before a kind person rescued her and brought Gwen and her kittens inside. Gwen does well with the other kitties in her foster home. She needs a home with another playful kitty to bond with.
| |||||||||||||
| Jewell | |||||||||||||
Jewell was a stray cat who found her way to a local shelter. We took her into SPCA's care after the shelter requested our help with placing a few of their cats. Jewell is much happier out of a cage and in her foster home where she can roam around, play and explore on her own!
| |||||||||||||
| JJ & Gilligan | |||||||||||||
JJ is an adorable cuddle bug. He is absolutely beautiful with a gorgeous fluffy coat and a face that will melt your heart away. JJ loves other cats and wants nothing more than to roll on the floor and play. Chasing balls and springs are his specialty. He is wonderful with kids and finds their energy and desire to play with him fascinating. His foster mom says that JJ is the best cuddle kitty she has ever met. He loves nothing more than to pass out in the crook of your arm with his paws in the air. Gentle and sweet, this little boy is a true charmer. JJ is mild-mannered, yet playful and well socialized. He adores his new big brother, Gilligan, who always keeps him hopping! GILLIGAN is a very regal looking kitten. With a gorgeous frame and beautiful coat of all black fur, he is truly a looker. But don’t be fooled by Gilligan’s sophisticated appearance, for this little guy is one of the most playful and hilarious kittens his foster family has ever encountered. Always ready for a game with the kids, or a good roll on the floor with his little brother, JJ, Gilligan’s antics always lead to a house full of laughs and smiles. Gilligan is incredibly well socialized and loves kids, dogs and anyone else who plays with him. Never unkind, Gilligan wants to share his love and playful personality with anyone he encounters.
| |||||||||||||
| Kale & Rhu | |||||||||||||
KALE is a very handsome boy! His personality strikes a balance with his sister. He is usually right on Rhu's heals as they explore something new. Kale is often the one who initiates wrestling matches with his sister. RHU is the leader of the pack. She is always the first to do anything. She was the first to climb to each new location, the first to run out the door of their room and the first to rub up against her foster mom's legs. Rhu is non-stop, always looking for the next thing to play with or investigate. These two are very bonded and must be adopted as a pair!
| |||||||||||||
| Lettie & Patches | |||||||||||||
LETTIE is sweet, sweet girl who is a tad bit shy. She has developed an affinity for feather toys and the laser pointer, and can always be lured into playing with her foster mom! She loves cuddling with her sister and her feline foster brother. Lettie has become far more trusting over the months and once she trusts you, she becomes your shadow and cuddle companion. Whenever she sees her foster mom settle in on the couch to watch a movie, she is right there ready to snuggle in and purr. Lettie needs a quiet home with caretakers who are patient and understand her shyness. Given a little time to adapt, she will prove to be your most loyal kitty! PATCHES is much more outgoing than her sister, and her nickname is "the klutz!" She loves being petted so much that she often rolls right off your lap or a couch or chair in the midst of her enthusiasm. Her purring never skips a beat – even when she rolls off the couch! She also loves playing - especially with toy mice and the laser pointer. Patches bats and chases her toys all the way down a long hallway in her foster home. She is your typical curious kitty who loves adventure and is always willing to chase a bug for you. Patches loves people and often sees you off to work and greets you at the door upon your return.
| |||||||||||||
| Lily & Rosie | |||||||||||||
LILY is just a smidge smaller and sleeker than her sister, Rosie, but she is first in line for everything. She does not wait before jumping into things right off the bat. Lily is very playful and has a ball batting around anything that moves. She adores being petted and turns on her motor and leaves it running to let you know she loves affection. Lily is a great snuggler and wakes you up with kisses in the morning. ROSIE doesn't hesitate to jump into or onto anything new. She's adventurous and loves exploring new things. She's just a little bigger and fluffier than her baby sister, Lily. Rosie also has a very loud motor and when she's not playing, she loves to curl up next to you for a lot of cuddling. She also likes to wake you up with kisses.

| |||||||||||||
| Maribella | |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||
| Mario, Naomi, Sue, Sergei & Sally | |||||||||||||
These kittens, now teenagers, were found living under a porch with their mom, Carmen. They have blossomed into sweet, playful and curious teenagers. Mario, Naomi, and Sue are a tab bit shy while their other siblings, Sergei and Sally, are the most outgoing. These teenagers need to be adopted into nurturing homes in pairs or into homes with another young, playful cat to bond with. MARIO (male, brown tabby) is pretty laid back for a kitten. But he also LOVES to play with feather toys and to chase a laser beam. NAOMI (female, black and white with black "mask" on her face) is very exotic with fur as soft as a rabbit. She is a little shy at first, but when she gets to know you she becomes a real love bug! SUE (female, black and white with black "hat" on her head) is also pretty laid back like her brother, Mario. But put a feather toy in front of her and she can't help but to chase and pounce on it. SERGEI (male, white with brown tabby markings) is very playful and loves to explore every aspect of his environment. He sits with you to be petted for short periods of time, but can’t wait to start playing again! Sergei enjoys playing with a bobbing feather toy - he’ll chase and paw at it for as long as you're willing to play with him. SALLY (female, white with brown tabby spots) is calm and very sweet. She’s content to sit in your lap and be petted virtually forever! Sally also likes playing with any toy on a string and is very eager to play with her brother, Sergei. She loves to climb up on an elevated surface and use that as a jumping off point to playfully ambush her siblings. | Maryann & Ginger
MARYANN is the sweetheart of the bunch. She'll melt your heart with her very cute face which always looks like she is smiling. Maryann likes to lay on her back waiting for a tummy rub and also likes "paw" massages. If you are looking for a kitten to cuddle with, Maryann is the one for you. She's also very playful and likes to race around after her toys. GINGER is a true beauty. Her bright gold highlights bring out her beautiful deep green eyes. She likes to play "catch me if you can" when its time to go to bed at night. Ginger likes to sit with you in the evening perching up on the back of the couch or chair. These kittens are from a litter, or possibly two litters, of nine kittens that were abandoned in a cardboard box in a park on a sweltering 92 degree day. When found, they were all alone - no mom cat in sight - and they were only four weeks old. Its a miracle they were found before it was too late.

| Pearl & Sandy | |||||||||||||
These sweet kitty girls are full of love and adventure. They are constantly playing with one another, sometimes 'spooking' each other, causing the other to jump high in the air. Pearl and Sandy chase each other around and wrestle for hours, crawling in and out of their favorite hide out: two kitty cubes. These two girls are extremely bonded and need to be adopted as a pair. SANDY, the more snuggly of the two, immediately starts purring once you pick her up, no matter what she's doing. PEARL, the fearless explorer, hide out and pounces on your feet and absolutely loves the crinkle tunnel and her crinkle toy.br> These girls are so incredibly sweet and meow excitedly when their foster mom comes down stairs to see them in the morning. They come running when called and adore people. If they feel like they aren't getting enough attention, they throw themselves on your feet, demanding to be petted. Both Sandy and Pearl do excellent with the 4 older cats in their foster home, always trying to get them to play.
| |||||||||||||
| Roscoe | |||||||||||||
Roscoe loves to play with his foster mom while she sits on the floor with him in the evenings, especially batting around a toy mouse after it’s smothered with catnip. His other favorite "toy" is a bristly arch. When he's not leaping around it and pressing his cheek up to it, he's often sleeping with his head beneath the archway - his very own throne! His signature move is his “shoulder roll” – where he can’t stand how good it feels to be petted and he literally goes head over heels. On weekends, Roscoe takes his time waking up in the morning with his foster mom rolling around and purring his heart out. After an early breakfast, he jumps back on the bed and sleeps for hours stretched out on his back or wedged between his foster mom and a pillow. After waking up (again!), he likes to spend his day looking out the window and lounging in rays of sunshine. Roscoe has come a long way since he was rescued. He was found outside in the dead of winter having been abandoned by his caretaker. While he is still timid around strangers, Roscoe comes around quickly if he thinks you aren’t looking for him. He has gotten use to pet sitters and a few frequent visitors. Roscoe needs a quiet home with a patient caretaker – preferably who is home quite a bit - who will give him time to adapt. Once he settles in, he will be your devoted companion. And, despite being FIV positive, Roscoe is a healthy cat with lots of spunk and lots to say. If you are looking for a sweet cat who needs love and affection, you may have found your new love!
| |||||||||||||
| Rose & Tom | |||||||||||||
ROSE & TOM are mom and son. They have become inseparable since being reunited after a few weeks in separate foster homes. They play together and sleep next to each other - and need to be adopted as a pair! ROSE is a beautiful dilute calico. She is sweet, purrs very loudly and LOVES to be petted! She enjoys playing with toys, sitting in the windowsill watching the world go by, and scratching her cardboard scratching pad. When her foster mom isn’t actively playing with her, Rose is very good at entertaining herself by grabbing a toy, throwing it up into the air, and trying to catch it before it hits the ground! TOM is very sweet and people-oriented. He adores being held in your arms for a long time. When he wants attention, he walks up to his foster mom and paws at her legs to be picked up. Tom is also a typical “boy” - he loves to "hunt" feather toys and wrestle with his mom, Rose. Rose, and her two litters of kittens (including Tom), came into our care after a kind woman called for our help. Her brother had passed away leaving his five cats behind. Shortly after taking them into her care, Rose gave birth to a litter of kittens! With nine unexpected kitties on her hands, we agreed to take them all into our care.
| |||||||||||||
| Ruby Tuesday | |||||||||||||
Ruby likes to follow her foster mom around and even waits outside the shower for her to come out. She loves meeting new people and investigating new things. Ruby is a very polite and well-behaved kitty who always uses her scratching posts and never jumps on the kitchen counter (the bathroom counter is a different story!). However, her favorite past-time is being brushed, which she loves even more than her treats. And speaking of treats, she is probably the only cat you'll find who sits up and begs for treats! Ruby is very playful and makes anything she can swat into a toy. She also loves chasing a tennis ball - even though it belongs to her canine friend, Cassie! It took Ruby a little while to get use to Cassie but now she tries to initiate play even if Cassie just stands there and looks at her! Ruby may take a little time to settle into a new place -- that's when the "sassy" side of her comes out! She is, nonetheless, a great kitty who makes a wonderful companion.

| Sammy & Simon | |||||||||||||
Sammy and Simon are energetic boys looking for an active household to dazzle with their kitten spirit. They love to play with anything that wiggles, especially long pieces of rope. They are very social and greet their foster family and their visitors at the door. During quiet times, they snuggle with each other and their foster mom. They really enjoy each other's company and need to be adopted together. These kittens, along with two others, 'followed' a young boy home on a sweltering day in July, and were put in a hot, metal shed. Luckily, the mother discovered her son's new 'friends' before it was too late, and called the SPCA for help in finding a more suitable home!

| Sharona | |||||||||||||
Sharona was found living outside with her kitten, Edward, under someone’s deck. We don’t know if she was lost or abandoned but she was one smart kitty to come looking for food at the door of a long time SPCA volunteer who has given her temporary refuge.

| Sully and Boo | |||||||||||||
These two were rescued from under a bush, along with their two other siblings, in an apartment complex by a long time SPCA volunteer. Now that they're safe and sound living indoors, they're all house cat! These kittens, along with their siblings Randy and Henry (already adopted), were named after characters in the Pixar movie "Monster's Inc." Sully (male) and Boo (female) are a natural pair because they both love to play more than anything else! When you do manage to get Boo to sit still, she's a wonderful lapcat and Sully loves to purr at you while you rub his belly. They both love to play, wrestle, and run, but are definitely lovey-dovey! Boo is all tabby while Sully has a white chest and legs. These litter mates are very good buddies and need to be adopted as a pair.

| Sybil | |||||||||||||
Sybil was a stray cat who showed up on someone's doorstep asking to be rescued! She is very happy to be safe and sound indoors and especially likes being "queen of the castle." She needs a home without other cats!

| Tabasco | |||||||||||||
Tabasco came into SPCA's care with his sisters, Poppy and Paisley, after their family asked for help finding them homes and getting their mom spayed. His sister's have been adopted. We would like to find a new foster home for Tabasco if he doesn't get adopted first. He's a little too rambunctious for his current feline playmate - Cinnamon. He will do best in a home where he can establish his routine and there are no young children.

| Tinker & Taylor | |||||||||||||
TINKER and TAYLOR have had some ups and downs in their young lives. They initially came into our care four years ago after being bottle fed as tiny orphaned kittens. They were adopted by a young couple years ago, but recently returned to SCPA's care after a job loss led their caretakers to move in with family members who apparently wouldn't make room for them as well. Sadly, with the distress in their own lives, their caretakers didn’t notice that Taylor was in distress as well. Due to an untreated upper respiratory condition, once coming back into our care, Taylor was hospitalized with a partially collapsed lung. After intensive care and proactive treatment, Taylor is doing wonderfully. He takes a small daily dose of steroids which he gobbles down in a “pill pocket.” These boys have never been apart and must be adopted as a pair. They need a home without young children. TINKER is very outgoing and loves to meet new people, especially if you promise to pet him! He comes running like a dog when you call his name. He always has more love to give you. Tinker likes to nudge you with his head or stick out his paw toward you asking for attention. He loves being petted or scratched behind his ears. Tinker also loves to bat around toys that make lots of noise! TAYLOR is as sweet as can be. He’s a little more reserved and independent than Tinker. Once he gets to know you, he likes to lay down next to you and sleep for hours on end. Taylor also likes his fair share of petting and scratching. If he sees that Tinker is getting some attention, he comes around to ask for affection, too! Taylor is such a sweet and loving cat.
